It is natural to wonder how we go about referencing providers and their methods. We work to provide users of the platform with the most qualified, exhaustive and independent information possible.
Indeed, the referencing process is the basis of the trust you place in the information you access through the platform. This is why we make a point of having the information referenced and validated by the provider itself, guaranteeing users qualified and validated information.
💡 Good to know: no robot crawls laboratories' websites. The information is entered by hand, from the exchanges between Skinobs and each provider: this is what makes it reliable.
1. Finding a provider
We are constantly looking for new testing providers to reference, through industry monitoring, our participation in international events… in order to offer an exhaustive landscape of providers worldwide.
2. Getting in touch
We then contact the provider to set up a video call.
3. Discovering their dermocosmetic services
During this video call, we build a real human connection with the provider: we ask about their expertise and their routine services in skin, hair and nail testing for the cosmetics industry.
This meeting is essential, as it is a privileged moment of exchange for Skinobs and for the provider alike: questions fly, and we get to know each one's specific expertise.
4. The methods table
Once we understand the provider's various fields of activity, we send them a table of the methods we reference on the platform, which they send back to us completed.
If the provider offers a specific method that is not yet on the platform, we ask them to fill in a dedicated table so that we know all of its characteristics.
5. Manual referencing
Once the completed table is returned by the provider, manual referencing begins at Skinobs: we create their supplier sheet, reference their information and link their methods to their specifics (for example: types of subjects, test supports used…).
If the provider offers a method that is not yet available on the platform, we take the time to build and validate the method and its sheet with them.
6. Validation by the provider
Finally, once referencing is complete, we ask the provider to check and validate their referencing on the platform. We then add the "Validated referencing" badge, visible on their sheet:
After this referencing work, the provider stays in control of their information: they send us their updated tables when their offer changes, and we follow up with them regularly to keep the information on the platform up to date. We also add the latest testing trends and the new claims that emerge (such as the "Maskne" claim, which appeared during COVID-19).
